Dr. Morris will be retiring due to a worsening family member’s health and apologizes for the seemingly sudden closure of her practice. Dr. Morris wishes to thank all of the many vets that have referred cases to her over the years and the opportunity this has presented to get to know many, many wonderful people and their pets.

The cardiology group at Upstate Veterinary Specialists, located in Latham, NY, has agreed to see MVC patients, and with 4 board-certified veterinary cardiologists, they are able to get people/pets booked for appointments relatively quickly if needed. They do triage incoming requests for appointments. Drs’ Wey, Sedacca, Kent, and Waxman are available for cardiology evaluations. UVS Phone: 518-783-3198.

Dr. Kane at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists in East Greenwich, RI., has also agreed to see MVC patients. He is booking out appointments 4-6 months. OSVS Phone: 401-886-8998

Please ask your primary care vet for a list of regional veterinary cardiologists that you may be able to get an appointment with. Many are not accepting any new patients and/or booking appointments out several months to as many as 6-9 months.

Medical Records:

All referring vets and clients were emailed or mailed full cardiology records when the MVC main office in South Deerfield closed last September 2022. Over the past year, Dr. Morris has been providing mobile cardiology consultations on a limited basis and has provided copies of visit summaries and medical records to all referring vets and clients within 48 hours of the mobile visit. PLEASE CHECK YOUR RECORDS or CHECK WITH YOUR PRIMARY CARE VET for a copy of your pet’s cardiology medical records before requesting another copy. Make sure to ask for a copy BEFORE August 20th, 2023, if neither you nor your primary care vet have a copy. Please provide a copy of these records to your new cardiologist before the scheduled visit.

To request a copy of your pet’s medical records after August 20, 2023, there is a @$20.00 per pet fee for copies, processing, and sending to you. Email: info@morrisvetcardiology.com. Provide your name, email address, cell phone number, and your pet’s name, sex, breed, and color. Dr. Morris has medical records encompassing the period between November 2020 to current.
